The level of the programme can be adjusted to suit the client's needs, i.e.
1) Employees with potential, to be developed in accordance with a succession programme;
2) Newly appointed Supervisors and / or those who were never exposed to any formal training;
3) More experienced Supervisors who wants to improve their competence and hone their supervisory skills.

Depending on the client's needs, modules may vary from half-day sessions to full-day sessions. Programmes may also be presented on a modular basis over a period of time.

The participant centred workshop format uses interactive and experiential activities, including role-plays, case studies, group discussions and lecturettes. The activities are designed to ensure both individual and group participation.

For maximum effectiveness and interaction, the group size must be limited to no more than fourteen participants.

The Job of a Supervisor

  • To understand what and who the supervisor is
  • To understand the different levels of people in the organization and their roles and responsibilities
  • To understand that the supervisor's job consists of supervisory and technical activities and be able to separate the activities accordingly
  • To understand the supervisor's responsibilities of planning, directing and controlling and how they should spend most of their supervisory time
  • To understand the structure of a job description and the main advantages thereof
  • To be able to write a supervisor's job description

  • To understand what delegation is
  • To explain the tasks of a supervisor's and identify which of the tasks can be delegated
  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of delegation
  • Understand and explain the obstacles to delegation
  • To identify activities which could be delegated
