Main Objectives:

1. To increase your understanding of how people are managed effectively, and of the leadership strategies you can use to increase the productivity of your subordinates.

2. To develop specific skills that will assist you in matching your leadership style to the needs of your follower or team of followers.

3. On completion of this course, you will be in possession of a personal plan for managing and leading your people successfully.

The following will be addressed in greater detail:
  • The leadership role of the Supervisor
  • The basic styles of leadership
  • The situational approach to leadership
  • The Situational Leadership Model
  • Situational Leadership and the development of subordinates
  • The Situational Leadership approach and disciplinary action
  • The Situational Leadership approach and team effectiveness.

Anyone in a supervisory / managerial role who wants to improve their effectiveness as leaders.

The programme is designed as a three-day session. The course can also be presented in a modular format over three days.

The participant centred workshop format uses interactive and experiential activities, including role plays, case studies, group discussions and lecturettes. The activities are designed to ensure both individual and group participation.

For maximum effectiveness and interaction, the group size must be limited to no more than twelve participants and not less than six.
